When life gives you lemons, don’t put them in a bag.
You have a choice. You do not need to use plastic for your produce. There is no need to place produce in a plastic bag, ever. It can go directly into your shopping cart then into your reusable bag, then washed when you get home. Eliminate the extra plastic steps. It’s actually easier that way. If it’s easier then why isn’t everyone refusing to use the plastic bag? I don’t have an answer for that, maybe because we are sheep and everyone else seems to be using them…
“NO BAG NEEDED Food biodegrades, plastic does not. OUR PLANET THANKS YOU!”
It’s great that people are slowly getting rid of these and replacing them with reusable bags.
But let’s take it one step further and get rid of these….
The small plastic bags used in the produce section are causing harm and they’re useless. If you like to put your produce in a bag, or if you are buying small produce (brussel sprouts and green beans etc) you can purchase small, reusable drawstring bags.
These are more sanitary anyway, it’s a win win! I like winning (just kidding, I love it).
The salad section the left makes me sick. We can purchase all of our salad fixings without the extra baggage as seen on the right. WOO HOO GO GREEN! Keep getting that veg on.
When faced with a choice, choose the higher road. Don’t get the bagged apples. Pick your own apples and skip the bag. Then you won’t have to wonder if there is a rotten apple in the bag you picked. Again, it’s a win win!
Thanks for reading! How do you go green in the grocery store?
